Who We Are

Comets is a Men’s local league basketball club based in Maidenhead Berkshire, playing this coming season in the Wessex Basketball Mens Division III.

What We Do

Comets train and play home games on Mondays at the Sports Hall, Desborough School, Maidenhead. Over the summer, we train at 7.30pm for an hour. You can find us by clicking here:

Why We Do it

There always seems to be good basketball going on somewhere. Most of the clubs cater for the Elite Player and provide good progression to national and International levels of the game. Comets is a bit different. Comets is all about “The Game”. It’s about participation, not elitism.

It’s all about “Fun and Fitness”, not pushing you to the limits. But we do play competitively and we DO want to WIN.

How much does it cost?

Joining : We are only a small club and I try really hard to ensure we keep our running costs to a minimum. So we ask each player to pay £60 to Join. This covers your England Basketball registration (£10) and also provides you with your own playing kit, customised to fit with your name and number allocated and printed on the back. (£45). The other £5 goes towards our running costs.

Playing: We work on a Pay & Play principle. We ask for £5 a session. A session is either a training session or a game. We do need you to come regularly so we can keep our cash flow going :-)
